2009 PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT

 

For the 2009 benefit year, there are three plan disign chnages which affect the Health Choice 500 and Health Choice 100 plans.

 

Acupuncture will now be covered as part of Physical Therapy.

 

The lifetime maximum benefit will now be as follows: $1,000,000 to $2,000,000.

If you participate in the HSA Choice 2500 plan and have a Health Savings Account, you need to be aware of the 2009 Maximum Contribution Levels.

 

The 2009 contribution levels are as follows:

 

  • The maximum annual HSA contribution for an eligible individual with self-only coverage is $3,000.
  • For family coverage, the maximum annual HSA contribution is $5,950.
  • Catch-up contribution for individuals who are age 55 or older is increased by statue to $1,000 for 2009 and all years going forward.
