Pension Plan Description/Cost
Pension Plan participation provides significant death and disability benefits. Death benefits are provided from the day membership first begins. Disability benefits are in effect after one year's participation.
The accumulation rate of annual pension credits under the plan is among the highest of Church pension systems. Special apportionments (based on investment and operational gains in recent years) further increase pension credits above the already generous contractual benefits.
Pension Plan dues are 14% of the compensation base including cash salary and housing (if provided). Of this, 11% is considered the Church/Organization portion and 3% the member portion.
If your church or organization is unable or unwilling to remit dues in your behalf, you may renegotiate your salary so that dues can be remitted on a tax-deferred basis.
